A One-Day National-Level Workshop on "Pedagogical Excellence for the Generative AI Era," organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of TKM College of Engineering, Kollam, in collaboration with ipsr solutions limited and Espoir Technologies, was successfully held on March 24, 2025, at APJ Hall, TKMCE, Kollam. The workshop aimed to explore innovative AI-driven teaching methodologies and their impact on modern education. Faculty members, researchers, and AI enthusiasts from various institutions participated in the event.  

Inauguration & Welcome Address

The event commenced with a welcome address by the organizing team, followed by the formal inauguration. The speakers highlighted the growing significance of AI in education and emphasized the need for pedagogical excellence in the Generative AI era.

Sessions & Resource Person

The expert session was led by Dr. Suresh Namboothiri, Founder Member of Espoir Technologies, Product Development Specialist, and Former COO of Tata Motors. His session focused on AI-driven pedagogy, innovative teaching methodologies, and research excellence. He provided valuable insights into the transformative impact of AI on education and practical strategies for effective implementation.

Participants & Engagement

Faculty members from various universities and educational institutions actively participated in the workshop. The interactive discussions provided a platform for educators to clarify doubts, exchange experiences, and explore AI-driven tools for enhancing teaching and learning outcomes.

Coordination & Support

The successful execution of the event was made possible through the seamless coordination by the IQAC team of TKMCE. The collaboration between TKMCE, Espoir Technologies, and ipsr solutions limited ensured a well-structured and engaging workshop.

    Introduction to FDP

    The One-week National-level Online Faculty Development Program (FDP) on Outcome Based Education (OBE) and the Application of Generative AI in Teaching and Research was organised by St. John Technical & Educational Campus, Palghar, Maharashtra, in association with ipsr solutions limited.  Held from 19th to 26th November 2025 in an online mode, this FDP brought together educators from across the country to explore modern academic frameworks, AI-driven teaching methodologies, and innovative approaches for improving the quality of higher education. Over 5,000 participants have registered for this groundbreaking FDP, making it a major success.     DAY 1 – Inauguration & Learning Domains (Bloom’s Taxonomy)

    The FDP opened with a warm and inspiring inauguration by Mr. Aldridge D’Souza, Member of Aldel Education Trust, who welcomed participants and highlighted the growing need for AI-integrated and outcome-focused academic practices.     DAY 2  Architecture of OBE & Outcome Design

    Day Two offered a deep dive into the architecture of Outcome-Based Education, led by Dr. Sunil Job K.A, Chief of Academic Solutions at IPSR and Associate Professor & Director of Educational Research and Development at Marian College, Kuttikkanam (Autonomous). The session began with a quick recap of Bloom’s Taxonomy before moving into the core components of OBE, including the shift from traditional models to learner-centered outcome-focused education. Dr. Sunil explained the Learning Map of OBE; Vision, Mission, PEOs, POs, COs and LOs and guided participants on writing effective Course Outcomes using the structure of Action Verb, Learning Content and Context. The session also covered evaluating COs using the SMART criteria, ensuring clarity and measurability in curriculum design.

    DAY 4 – Outcome Mapping, Attainment Calculation & ICT Tool

    Day Four, led by Dr. Mendus Jacob, focused on the practical processes involved in mapping outcomes and calculating attainment within an OBE framework. The session provided clarity on Level 1 and Level 2 mapping, helping participants understand how COs connect to POs, PSOs and teaching–learning activities.     DAY 6 – Generating a Generation to Challenge Generative AI

    Conclusion

    The One-week National-level FDP successfully equipped educators from across the country with the knowledge and tools needed to adopt Outcome-Based Education and Generative AI in teaching, assessment, and research.  Through expert-led sessions, hands-on LMS activities, product demonstrations, and continuous academic engagement, the program enabled participants to rethink their teaching practices and embrace technology-driven academic transformation. This FDP held special significance as it formed a key part of ipsr solutions limited’s Silver Jubilee Year celebrations. As a gesture of gratitude to the academic community, IPSR sponsored the entire program, offering it completely free of cost to all participants and faculty members across institutions.  Over the past 25 years, IPSR has mentored more than 1,00,000 students and trained around 50,000 faculty members in Outcome-Based Education. This milestone reinforces our commitment to serving the education sector and empowering educators with the competencies to integrate OBE and AI into Teaching, Learning, and Assessments.     One-Day Workshop on Best Practices in OBE Assessments using QnSmart i<br> RVS College, Coimbatore The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), in collaboration with the Examination Department of RVS College of Arts and Science, Sulur, Coimbatore, organized a One-Day Workshop on Best Practices in OBE Assessments using QnSmart i on 5 August 2025, in association with ipsr solutions limited. This workshop was part of the series of follow-up training initiatives regularly offered by IPSR as an extended product support service, aimed at fostering continuous academic excellence and quality enhancement. The session provided the faculty members with practical insights into effectively leveraging QnSmart i for Outcome-Based Education (OBE) assessments. It enabled them to gain hands-on experience, enhance their assessment strategies, and adopt innovative practices for aligning teaching–learning processes with desired learning outcomes. Overall, the workshop served as a valuable platform for capacity building, empowering faculty to implement OBE practices more efficiently and confidently. Session Introduction Mr. Jaimon Kuriakose, Senior Manager – Training & Corporate Services at ipsr solutions limited, delivered the introductory address for the session. He outlined the objectives and highlighted how the workshop is designed to enhance the skills of faculty members in framing high-quality, outcome-oriented questions.     Emphasizing the importance of aligning assessments with learning outcomes, he pointed out that the session would provide practical insights and strategies for improving question design. His introduction set a clear roadmap, inspiring participants to engage actively and make the most of the learning experience. Training Session: The training session led by Mr. Nibin Sunny, Sr. Manager – Academic Solutions & Infrastructure Management, was highly informative and practical, focusing on various aspects of effectively using the software for academic operations. The session was structured to provide participants with a step-by-step understanding of the essential processes, from the very basics of template identification to the advanced features of question distribution and generation. The session provided a comprehensive walkthrough on the systematic process of preparing and managing academic content within the platform. Participants were first introduced to the importance of beginning with the correct structural framework, as this ensures smooth alignment and minimizes the risk of errors during later stages. The demonstration highlighted the need for a well-organized entry of information, with clear steps for creating, editing, and updating whenever revisions become necessary. This approach emphasized how maintaining order and consistency at the initial stage lays the foundation for accurate mapping and effective use of the system. A significant portion of the training was dedicated to the integration of learning goals and their proper connection with assessments. Practical examples were shared to illustrate how this linkage brings transparency and clarity in evaluating student performance. Participants also explored the two approaches available for entering questions: direct entry for smaller sets and bulk upload through prepared files for larger collections. Detailed explanations were given on the importance of adhering to the required format, validating entries, and avoiding common mistakes to ensure the process is smooth and error-free. This section underlined how correct and precise data entry plays a critical role in building a reliable question bank. The session further introduced a built-in review mechanism designed to uphold fairness, accuracy, and standardization across all entries. This vetting process allows for permissions, checks, and approvals that ensure quality before implementation. Finally, participants were shown how automated distribution settings could generate balanced assessments by applying predefined rules on coverage and difficulty levels. This feature not only reduces manual effort but also guarantees consistency, confidentiality, and alignment with academic goals, making the overall system both efficient and dependable. The final session of the day led by Mr. Nibin, provided valuable insights into the concept of Outcome Based Education (OBE) and its growing relevance in today’s academic landscape. He explained how OBE shifts the focus from traditional teaching methods to clearly defined learning outcomes, ensuring that students gain the right skills and competencies. The session highlighted the importance of aligning curriculum, teaching, and assessment with measurable outcomes to improve the overall quality of education. Mr. Nibin also emphasized how OBE empowers students to become more responsible learners while helping institutions achieve academic excellence. With practical examples, he showed how OBE enhances employability and bridges the gap between education and industry needs. His engaging presentation offered participants a clear perspective on the necessity of OBE in the modern education system. This session provided a fitting conclusion to the day’s discussions, leaving participants with a forward-looking approach to effective teaching and learning.     One-Day Workshop on Demystifying Outcome Based Education(OBE)<br>Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies, Kodakara A one-day workshop on Demystifying Outcome-Based Education (OBE) was successfully organised on 16th August 2025 by the Examination Department of Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies, Kodakara, in collaboration with ipsr solutions limited. This impactful academic initiative brought together faculty members and educationists, aiming to provide practical insights into aligning curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment strategies with the principles of OBE.

    Ceremonial Inauguration

    The formal proceedings of the event began with the Welcome Address delivered by Dr. Karuna K, Vice Principal & IQAC Coordinator, who warmly greeted the gathering and set the tone for the day. This was followed by the Presidential Address by Rev. Dr. Devis Chenginiyadan, Executive Director of SCAS, who shared insightful thoughts on the importance of academic innovation and quality enhancement. The event was then formally inaugurated by Dr. Mendus Jacob, MD & CEO of ipsr solutions limited, who also delivered the Inaugural Address, highlighting the significance of technology-driven approaches in higher education. The Principal’s Message was delivered by Dr. Joy K. L., who underscored the institution’s commitment to continuous improvement and academic excellence. This was followed by the Associate Executive Director’s Message by Rev. Dr. Joji Kallingal, who emphasised the value of collaboration and shared vision in achieving educational goals. The proceedings concluded with the Vote of Thanks, proposed by Asst. Prof. Savio Francis Fernandez, Controller of Examinations, expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, participants, and organisers for their contributions to the success of the event.

    The technical sessions were led by Dr. Mendus Jacob, M.D. & CEO of ipsr solutions limited, and Professor & Director – MCA, Marian College Kuttikkanam (Autonomous). A distinguished academician and industry leader, Dr. Jacob delivered an in-depth and engaging session on implementing OBE frameworks effectively within institutional contexts. His expertise provided participants with both conceptual clarity and practical strategies for transforming conventional teaching models through outcome-based practices.

    Forenoon Session The forenoon session introduced the essentials of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and its importance in today’s learner-focused environment. Dr. Jacob explained the concepts of Course Outcomes (COs), Program Outcomes (POs), and Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs) and highlighted how systematic mapping ensures alignment between what is taught and what students achieve. Bloom’s Taxonomy was presented as a useful framework for defining measurable learning outcomes, supported with examples and case studies that encouraged participants to reflect on their own academic practices. Moving from theory to application, the session also discussed how institutions can use performance indicators and attainment levels to evaluate student progress. Participants gained insights into creating effective rubrics, aligning assessments with outcomes, and planning strategies for refining their curriculum, thereby strengthening academic accountability and quality. Dr. Mendus introduced deQ OBE, a comprehensive platform that consolidates learning activities, assessments, outcomes, and reports into a seamless system, enabling collaboration, Total Quality Management (TQM), and data-driven decision-making in academics. Afternoon Session The afternoon session familiarised participants with QnSmart i, a smart question bank and automated question paper generation software designed to simplify assessment practices. With its in-built integration of Bloom’s Taxonomy, the tool helps educators design balanced and outcome-focused question papers that directly reflect intended learning outcomes. The session also showcased how QnSmart i streamlines question bank management, ensures systematic coverage of outcomes, and reduces the effort required in paper setting. Participants explored how the software can support data-driven evaluation of learning and provide institutions with a reliable platform to strengthen their OBE practices.  He also highlighted QnSmart i, a smart software solution that supports OBE implementation with criteria-referenced quality control, best practices, and cost-effective tools for colleges and universities.

    Engaged Participation and Collaborative Spirit

    The workshop witnessed the active participation of faculty members from Sahrdaya College. The collaborative atmosphere reflected Sahrdaya’s strong commitment to academic excellence and innovation. The longstanding association between ipsr solutions limited and higher education institutions, enriched by seminars, FDPs, academic tie-ups, and advisory support, added further value to this academic endeavour.
